800-USA-RAIL (800-872-7245) Schedule/Fare InformationSan Joaquin trains operate six times in each direction 365 days per year. Amtrak motor coaches meet most trains for most destinations. [Check specific schedule] At the present time, four round trips daily operate between the Bay Area and Bakersfield, and two round trips operate directly between Sacramento (no bus to Stockton) and Bakersfield.
San Joaquin trains are equipped with coach seating cars, combination coach/baggage cars, and diner/lounges.
- Coaches -- Cars with coach seating only
- Baggage Coaches -- Cars with seating for passengers and storage space for luggage and package express.
- Dining Cars -- Cars containing a galley for food preparation downstairs and table seating for passengers upstairs.
San Joaquin trains have full dining car service, as well as snacks, beverages and sandwiches available for extra charge in the diner/lounge. Telephones are available on board. Bicycles may be carried on California Car trains. Checked baggage is available on all trains. Seats recline.
